Welcome

Hi there.

I'm Katie. I have a passion for questioning - questioning the ideas we have formed about what to do, what not to do, how to be “polite”, what is “okay” - continuously attempting to shatter the many limiting stories and beliefs that keep us from experiencing the reality that is aliveness.

I have a tiny dog named Moose and a large husband named James.

I spend many days at an occupational therapy practice in Chicago where I have been since 2012. I have worked with kids through Early Intervention ages 0-3 in the home, inpatient rehabilitation settings, inpatient mental health with both kids and adults, outpatient psych rehab programs, and other pediatric private practice settings. If you are interested in sessions in person, contact me.

I went to University of Michigan in Ann Arbor for undergrad and to Rush University in Chicago for a master of science in OT. Between then and now, I worked in logistics and business development before pursuing OT, then this work - a mix of occupational therapy through a relationship-based, mental health lens and my own personal journey unraveling history, present, and patterns along the way.

I'm a certified DIRFloortime practitioner, which means I'm trained in looking at how nuances in interaction and relationship impact development, and it is not only the root of how I practice but a method I use to grow alongside my clients daily.

I grew up in a small Northern Michigan town on the lake and started nannying a ton at age 9, where my career really began in working with kids and families - and little did I know at the time, spending much of my time with numerous kids in pivotal developmental years was preparation for a career based on child development.
